Fifth Day of the South Down Way
Southease to Alfridton
Y'know the school group I talked/complained about yesterday? They are here today, too. They are German, so with my limited, OK, rubbish, knowledge of German, I have NO idea what they are saying. In fact, two waked up behind me and said 'Do you speak German?' (in German) and I had no idea what they were saying. Dad told me. In my defence, I didn't know they were even talking to me. They probably thought I was a very rude English person. I'm not even English! I'm Kiwi! Without the extremely long beak, 'cos those are just weird. It wouldn't even be any use to me.
So, seeing today was 10km, AND ALL UP HILL, OK, not all of it, but two thirds, it didn't take us very long. Only 3ish hours. We stopped to look at the view and deal out tissues (hey fever) etc. But, we finally got there. And then had to walk another km to the YHA, which was shut. We got there after a lot of guess and check.
Once we got there, Dad and Jack wanted to go see the man in the hills, where all the chalk has been scraped away and there is a silhouette (called The Long Man). The rest of us decided against it. So, they went off, leaving us to wait a few hours, until we were able to go into the hostel. We waited. We waited. We waited. We waited for all of 2 1/2 hours until the boys got back and we were able to go into the hostel. I'm gonna be critical here, OK? This place isn't great. There is a squashed fly on the wall. Case closed. But, if you wanted to be annoying, (some people call it clever, but, really, that is going too far) you could check the star rating. It looks like:

Ta daaaaa!
The End.
